Privacy Policy
Capiero ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-powered property accounting application for iOS and the web. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Capiero, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate and improve the App.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a unique user identifier, and your acceptance of the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.
Property and accounting data. Information you enter or import, including properties, leases, tenants, income and expense transactions, categories, notes, and reports.
Receipts, documents, and photos. Images and files you upload for storage or AI processing. These may include receipts, invoices, lease agreements, and property photos.
AI prompt content. When you use AI features (for example, expense categorization or receipt parsing), the relevant content from the items above is sent to our server-side AI provider for processing.
Usage and diagnostic data. Crash reports and basic product analytics events (screens visited, feature usage, errors). We do not collect precise location, contacts, microphone, or browsing history outside the App.
Device and log data. Standard request metadata such as IP address, device type, operating system, and timestamps, collected automatically by our infrastructure providers.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the App and your account.
- Run AI features you invoke (categorization, parsing, summaries).
- Process subscriptions, billing, renewals, and entitlement checks.
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance and reliability.
- Communicate with you about your account, service issues, and updates.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your property, accounting, or receipt content to train third-party AI models.
3. Service Providers (Sub-processors)
We use the following providers to deliver the App. Each processes data only on our behalf and under its own commitments.
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics, and Analytics. Hosts account, property, and document data, and receives crash and usage diagnostics.
- OpenAI — Server-side AI processing of prompt content you submit (e.g., receipts, transactions). Requests are made from our backend, not from your device. OpenAI does not use this content to train its models when accessed through our server-side API.
- Apple — Processes payments and provides StoreKit purchase receipts when you subscribe through the App Store.
We do not authorize these providers to use your data for their own marketing.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your data within a reasonable period, except for limited records we are required to retain for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Crash and analytics records may be retained separately from your account data for a limited time.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Access and export — request a copy of your data.
- Correct — edit account and property data directly in the App, or request corrections by email.
- Delete — delete your account from within the App or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent.
- Restrict or object — ask us to stop specific processing where applicable law allows.
- Withdraw consent — for processing that relies on consent.
To exercise these rights, email capieroappfeedback@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Children
Capiero is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security controls, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest where supported by our providers, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of Capiero after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
